Introducing Fergus!

Well, prepare yourselves! We have a new addition to the family. You are about to see something like 20 photos of this little guy, followed by (no doubt) entire months of way more kitten posts than any one could care about (besides his mom).

His name is Fergus. He was named that by his foster mom, Laurie (and co-mom Kim), who have been taking care of him and his siblings from just a few days old on behalf of the Animal Shelter in Tacoma, WA. They did a wonderful job. I have never had a human-raised kitten before (as opposed to one just left in a tiny cage at the shelter) and so far it really has made a difference! Fergus is totally chill, totally adaptable, and walked right in and was like "oh yeah, this is cool, I live here now, you're my mom? ok, cool".

We started by just letting him out in the bedroom so he would have time to adjust (and Mushroom would too). We planned on him being in there for a few days but that plan was quickly abandoned because Fergus didn't really need to be sheltered too much.
