Shine on you crazy diamond

B_DSC_0635_blip

One of my top five favorite songs of all time. I am not even sure what the other four are, but this is up there. I don't think I have ever heard it on the radio before, ever, but today it came on while I was driving to the store. The weather was beautiful, the windows were down, it was just a little on the comfy/toasty/warm side. You know that feeling you get when a grat song comes on the radio and you'vve just pulled into a parking space and you stay in the car just to hear the song finish? Well, that's what this was...a great few minutes.

Shine On You Crazy Diamond
- Pink Floyd

Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom,
blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter,
come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!
You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions,
come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!
